Not as safe as you might think. :-(
by happyshppr, June 9, 2007
Merchants are not researched and dispute resolution through ebay or paypal is the worst!!! I recently lost $130.00, by using ebay because they were too lazy to look into the problem. I am very unhappy with paypal and will ALWAYS use my credit card before giving them another dime.

Amateurish sellers and panders
by nice-customer, September 28, 2005
I purchase from E-bay since the beginning of it. Quantity (and especially mass public with a low education) means less quality. It is something like a jumble sale, every person try to cheat the other! Some exemples: OEM software, opened, unseald and sold as "original and CD case seald" and E-bay nor Paypal do not interfere on the "quality of goods sent" (contradiction to their rules!), purchasers who open multiple accounts with the only purpose to increase in a false manner the final price, plenty of illegal copies instead of originals... If you sell something, you never get your money... but E-bay is the first to ask your money (% of the sales value)...

Mislead about weight of the package and shipping Added $250 to a bill
by miroslav59, March 7, 2007
Misleading and Disappointing with AJ Madison.
I live in Canada and I've ordered Kitchen Aid 2 element Cook-top Kecc056rbl price $459 Us. Weight 22 lbs. I've been told by Alen Rosenfeld that unit weights 42 lb for shipping and I have to ship it as a UPS freight for $190US. Not knowing the difference between freight and standard shipping I agreed. When UPS called 2 weeks later that we have to hire separate broker to process this for customs. Which added another $115.20 to cost (excluding canadian charge GST&PST for the unit). When unit I've confirmed that unit weights only 22 lb and could be easy shipped UPS Standard for $42.28 US and brokerage fee would be processed by UPS for approximately $20 - 25 CND. Total Saving $148US plus $90CND = $250. I've contacted Aj Madison Customer Service on 2nd of March but zero progress to come to a some compromise. Conclusion is that I was mislead and I'd not buy and recommend to buy anything from AJ Madison even though starting price may look promising.

Displeased and unimpressed - Would not order from this source.
by matalots, October 24, 2003
Grandma's Pantry lost my order, then found my order. The delay in getting what I ordered cause me great difficulty as I needed some product for a trip I was taking.

The solution would have been to ship next day, Karen Terry from Grandma's pantry wanted additional money ( triple the original shipping costs) for this - which since they lost the order they should have picked up the tab.

I was very disappointed with Grandma's Pantry and next time will look to a more respectable retailer.

I would not order anything from this on-line source if I were you.

Hell, I'll not even get close to ebay now, lost a lot of money.
by user7, May 5, 2005
Worst, i'll never ever use Ebay. Multiple seller took my money and ran away. A couple of them did not ship which was listed and described. Beware all sellers on ebay are cheats, atleast a big percentage of all that I bought from.

eBay is a terrible place, no safety, no security, lots of fraud
by sassy_me, December 22, 2006
eBay is a terrible place to do business on unless you have money to throw away.

The amount of fraud is outrageous. There is no customer service. They are always changing policies without notice. And they unfairly suspend accounts.

I have had nothing but headaches and drama from Ebay. Numerous times I have opened a verified, 100% legit account as a seller. I sold some items and made some good money, only to find that the next time I went to sign into my account it was suddenly blocked without any explanation other then I was violating the "spirit" of the Ebay community. They partner up with Pay Pal making it ever so much easier for the two bloodsucking companies to prey on the innocent. One day you think all is well in the Ebay/Paypal community, until you sign in to check how much you have sold only to find your listings cancelled and all of the money you earned is now being "held" by Pay pal until they complete a thorough investigation. Also, there is absolutely ZERO seller protection. The customer service is trash and basically the bottom line is if you are going to sell on the Internet DON'T use Ebay or Paypal...they are not your "pal" and you'll be the one who ends up "paying"

Excellent
by yehudabs, December 11, 2003
I Downloaded the DEMO version 5.0 few days ago. Fast download, easy installation. Needs rebooting one time since parts of the software function as network drivers. After the installation the software functioned smoothly. Later started the problems
1. If you ever try to logout without turning the software off you are dead. The system (win XP Pro) restarts and after rebooting Midpoint claims it is installed incorrectly.
2. The Uninstall procedure is easy but not clean. After you uninstall you don't have communication at all. Midpoint's network drivers remain in the system and cancel communication. You have to enter the registry file yourself and delete any occurrence of Midpoint in the file. System restore does not fix the problem nor automatic tools such as "System Mechanics". During the manual registry correction you have to access permissions to delete the parts related to Midpoint. After these steps reboot, and configure your home network again.

Summary - don't worth the wasted hours discovering all these details. I tried to install it for three times and the above text summarized my (bad) experience.

disappointed and overcharged user
by chopperpl, May 8, 2007
I'm done with ebay. Their prices are so high I can't make money of it anymore. I dedicated last 4 years to build the business on ebay, and now I have to close off. Hopefully, they get new ceo that is less griddy. I will never sell on ebay again - period. I found good alternative, which is free, but don't have that much traffic yet. Kapela Auctions at http://www.kapela.com They have lots to offer once the word is spread. You can't beat that...

Full of Scammers just waiting to rip you off! Beware.
by michelle4112, March 8, 2004
Ebay ain't what it use to be. Ebay has become a buyer beware store. You rarely get the item as advertised. Several times I have been ripped off to the extent that I send money and never get the item. To add insult to injury I tried to sell some items on ebay and after I shipped the product the customer had their credit card company reverse the charges in one instance and in another it turned out to be a fake money order. Ebay's response was to offer their square trade service to me for another $20.00. What a ripp-off. If you are going to buy or sell on ebay my experience is be prepared to lose your money. Full of scammers.

AVOID it by all means
by bouaram, March 25, 2007
I got scammed so many times on ebay, I just closed my account and do not regret it.. If a seller scams you and you contact their customer service, they give you a claim number and they are frankly polite but your issue is never resolved.. and then there is paypal, you pay your item never arrives and when you ask where is my buyer's protection you get no answer.. There is nothing like Good old personal shopping and if you have no time for that just use the websites of reputable stores.. I had a terrible experience and hope you won't..

invisible customer service
by larry101, December 11, 2003
Its almost impossible to reach customer service. They seem to feel if its impossible to reach someone the problem is solved - instead they just lose a customer. They must feel that they have so many that it is easier to lose a customer that deal with them.

Contrary to the misleading postings here, Ebay is generally a sham and should be avoided.
by caroljones87, July 20, 2004
Ebay is a sham. I have only bid on a few things, but my experience has been that if the bid doesn't go the way the seller wants, he/she just *ignores* your attempt to pay. In addition, all the buyer/seller feedback comments are just ebayers propping each other up to look good to newbie buyers. Look at the comments on this board for example-utterly bogus. Also, I can tell that sellers increase their own bid price by how they create alternate identities. The seller's review feedback was WAY to similar to the feedback on the person who kept upping my bid. I steer as many folks AWAY from ebay as possible as I think it mostly is a sham.

Negative - too many sleazy people selling things
by boston7_12, May 16, 2005
eBay can be fun and it's very "American" but it also has some pitfalls. There are many, many unscrupulous sellers on eBay. I have been stuck twice getting articles that did not resemble the photos on eBay. When you question the quality or accuracy of the item described, my experience has been that these sharks will rip your head off. So much for customer service. I say buyer beware, but hope you enjoy it. Also, I know people who really get hooked on eBay and lose hours each day trolling eBay as an escape. Don't get hooked!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN BUSINESS.
by swerved, February 21, 2005
Ebay hides behind their vail of customer service. The most you can ever expect is a form email. Then if you still need help, you reply and guess what. They need you to start the process over. One day if you finally get any customer service and issued a credit. It never shows up, and then guess what....start all over again. The provide NO LIVE customer service or help in any manner, email, telephone, live chat. NOTHING.

Wasn't told about out-of-stock, poor customer service
by swoodbury, December 12, 2003
I placed the order online then was called by an NWV Direct rep who confirmed the order and proceeded to sell me accessories. Annoying, but okay. Then after several days of not receiving tracking/shipping info, I called and was told the item I ordered was out-of-stock and would be 3-4 weeks. I should have been told that initially. Customer service was also very poor. I cancelled my order and went elsewhere (Digitalfotoclub.com).

A Place you can't never trust
by lemeng, April 23, 2007
It's a on-line store you can't never trust. When I spend a couple of hundred dollars on a HD DVD Player, I received a broken machine. The seller neither take responsibilities for repairing or exchanging nor refund my money. I tried to get support from EBay, but the EBay authority didn't do anything in real. There are bunch of so called EBay 's protection policies, it turn out, EBay is just a place for some people to dump their garbage for money.

This was my worst experience shopping on Internet.

Horrible Experience PLEASE READ!!!! LAWSUIT!!
by cdmx, May 10, 2004
These two guys ripped us all off (Josh Truex, Dave Hickman), they will not give us a refund for a crappy product that doesn't work.
I bought a dh-racing dual groove pulley from these guys and the thing wouldn't go all the way on the crank. (i only found out this later when the car started to run like crap) They may give you crap about it being pressed on. Well with an aftermarket pulley only 14lbs is needed to tighten it down. I was using 40+ lbs trying to put the pulley on. I belive it may have done some permanent damage to my engine for the 1 week that it was on.

Another member bought a block/head and neither were usable.
