Weak sound, but function well

Pros: Wireless lets you expand your speaker coverage easily
Cons: Sound quality is poor and these won't suffice as primary speakers

The bottom line: They fill a need which is nice, but they aren't good quality speakers and you shouldn't spend more than $40 or $50 max. for them.

PURCHASE and PACKAGING
I bought a set of these speakers as 'Refurbished' for about $20. They were packaged properly, in flawless condition with documentation that explained the setup procedure.

SETUP
Setup was easy when I followed the directions. I configured the frequency close to the unit and the quality stayed perfect as I moved away.

DISTANCE
I split the placement of the speakers in my 1 bedroom apartment. One went into the bathroom and the other into the kitchen. Each of these locations is through a wall or two, but neither is more than 20 feet from the base. The signal clarity is perfect, but I don't know if it would hold up as the distance increased.

SOUND
The sound quality is poor. Even though the speakers are individually powered, there is very little low end response. The bass boost sounds terrible and I do not use it. Instead I have found that placing the speakers so they are facing out from a corner does give them a fuller sound. The mid-range is okay and the highs sound thin, but nothing distorts at moderately loud volumes. In my kitchen I am around a corner from the main speakers of my stereo, the supplement of this little guy does make a marked improvement. It replaces the frequencies that are being lost from the other room. In that regard the speakers sound good, they provide good fill for sound that's traveling a distance.

DURABILITY
The speakers are constructed of rigid plastic. The casing is well put together and the shield over the speaker itself appears pretty tough. I do not expect that these speakers will fall apart on you. The knobs are good and tight allowing fine tuning of frequency and volume. The plastic does give off the distinct feeling of being brittle however which leads me to believe that they would crack easily if dropped and might not hold up as well in direct sunlight.

VALUE
At $20 I think I got a good deal. Wireless speakers are wireless speakers and the convenience is a factor. If I found them again at this price I would buy another set. I wouldn't pay full price for a new set though. They just can't deliver quality sound.
