Pros: Name brand, price, excellent performer, screen easy to see
Cons: Does not have text to speech but have found this not a big deal
The Bottom Line: The TomTom One XL does a good job getting you from A to B.
For a great price you get a name brand device.

Pros: Detailed map of the Chicago area; spoken instructions including street name; easy to use software.
Cons: Some advanced features such as traffic are available only through a subscription service.
The Bottom Line: In the short period of time I have used the TomTom One XL-S I have become enamored of it and what it can do.

Cons: Weak windshield mount, Two hour battery life, Tele Atlas Maps, confusing services
The Bottom Line: This may be the GPS for you if price and features are more important to you than Navteq maps.

Pros: Wide screen with lots of data, lightning-fast acquisition and recalculations, good maps.
Cons: Poor mount, Very POOR Points of Interest (POIs), no auto-brightening/darkening.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this unit over a comparable Garmin. TomTom must listen to its customers when it comes to POI's, or they've lost me as a future customer.

Pros: Touch screen, visibility, spoken directions, ease of use.
Cons: out of date maps? Suction mounting bracket - so so.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this device with the one caveat that if you live in a rural area the maps may be more accurate with another device.
