CANON HV20 - Pocketable High Definition

bytheuerkorn Apr 26, 2007

Pros Picture quality, connectivity, easy to use, battery life, HDV easy to process, 10x...
Cons HDV limitations, ergonomics, NTSC only, no firewire cable included
Recommended it? Yes

Just as we've come to accept the marginal quality of standard TV standards like PAL and especially NTSC, High Definition television finally is ready for the mass market. Pros HD ability, manual controls, stunning video quality, accessory shoe (for external mic,...
Cons Some pieces may feel a little cheap to some, but to me they felt fine.
Recommended it? Yes

Keep in mind,... Read full review »

Pros Price, weight, convenience, short learning curve, handling, quality of videos
Cons Battery life limited if you plan to do duration videos.  Buy a backup for security.

The price range for budget camcorders has changed much recently. The MG630, released on March 1st of 2009 as a member of JVC's Everio G Series line, is in that group or reasonably priced electronics.

Purchasing a camcorder today isn't as simple and straightforward as it once was, but I... Read full review »

Pros Excellent video quality and sound, easy to use software, very user-friendly camcorder.
Cons Battery life for the supplied battery is low, only lasts about 90 minutes
Recommended it? Yes

I've always been a technology nut with anything from computers to iPods to digital cameras but I've never bought a camcorder until recently. I had a trip scheduled to Orlando, Florida for a week and I knew there were things I was going to do there that I would love to have memories other than my... Read full review »
