My first universal was Samsung's DVD-HD841. Now that did have problems. The picture quality was ok but DVD-Audio discs and SACDs kept cutting out while playing. I didn't really want to shell out so much for a DVD...

I bought this unit because it played so many formats and the price was right. Then I hooked it up and played a CD+G karaoke disc on it. The graphics were acceptable and the sound quality of the instrumentals were too. However, the singer's microphone volume was too low in comparison to the volume...

I KNOW THE PRICE OF THIS PLAYER IS CHEAP AND CAN'T EXPECT BEST QUALITY, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE DISPLAY, YOU'LL SEE THE MOVING LINES GO UP CONTINUOUSLY UNLESS YOU HAVE THEIR RJ TECH LCD DISPLAY, YOU WON'T SEE THE LINES AND VOCAL IS COMPLETELY DISTORTED. IT DOESN'T SEEM WORTH FOR THE MONEY.
