Pros Progressive Scan, DVD-Audio, Jog-Shuttle Dial on Remote.
Cons Needlessly Complex Operation.
Recommended it? Yes

The ever-improving price/performance ratio of consumer electronics stops for no product, including the JVC XV-723GD. Up until late last year, this DVD player, featuring progressive-scan output and DVD-Audio capability, looked like a bargain with its street price of $600. Now, despite a $200 price... Pros Great audio and video, with a lot of features.
Cons Very few DVD Audios available, makes DVD Audio function limited.
Recommended it? Yes

This JVC player is perfect for the person who wants it all, but can't afford it all. The player has DVD-Audio capabilities for the best music you can hear. However, they are difficult to find, so that feature may be a bit limited. But even excluding the DVD-Audio feature, the player is more than... Read full review »

After being disappointed with some performance aspects of the Samsung DB-P1000 Blu-Ray High-Definition DVD player, I had to try the Panasonic DMP-BD10. Although it sells for almost twice the price of the Samsung, I expected better performance from it. The Samsung disappointed me with occasional... Read full review »

Best BluRay Offers

bysimplemoney Mar 12, 2007
16 Helpfuls 17 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Relatively fast load times, 7 channel analog, good upconversion
Cons No DTS-Master Audio, no bass management, lacks 1080/24p support, no SACD support,...
Recommended it? Yes

When you have an 1080p projector (see review here ) you want as many 1080p sources as you can get. Television can provide some nice 1080i sources, but I'm still amazed at how little high-def content is on television - unless you want to watch Discovery HD 24 hours a day. So I decided to get a...
