Pros very well built and useful lens with fast aperture and great viewing angle
Cons heavy and not cheap, but we cant have everything

This lens continues to surprise me with its performance. Outdoors, it seems you can capture limitless wide angle shots with amazing depth of field, and then look down and get a picture of a flower from nearly 6" away from the end of the lens. Incredible Lens for Portraiture

Pros Great focus, easy to use once learned. Easy to clean lens.
Cons Hard to clean the grooves, Slightly complicated to learn for a beginner.
Recommended it? Yes

This is definitely my go to lens for Portraiture. I got the Nikon D3000 with kit lens and this, the Nikkor 55-200mm was a welcome addition to my kit a year later.

Pros  Takes pictures fine close up.
Cons Only gets good shots in the sun. Clouds destroy distance clarity. Way too slow.
Recommended it? No

You would have to love the light weight compact style of this zoom lense. That is probably the most I liked about it. Read full review »
