The Nintendo DS proclaims that touching is good for gaming, and with the fashionable DS Lite now on the scene, we’re inclined to agree. The DS Lite has improved in every way over the original DS model. The screens are brighter, the case is more durable, and power consumption is more efficient. A full three hour charge will have you in portable gaming heaven for up to 19 hours of continuous operation! A whole roster of colors and styles complement the sleek new accents of the DS Lite meaning you can play better and look better than ever before. Less

Though it looks like a toy, don't be fooled: the Nintendo GameCube is a powerful video game console that rightly deserves its place among the other next-generation game systems. In fact, its playful, appealing design and small size (the unit is a not-quite-cubed 6 inches) aren't the only features that set it apart from the others. For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine. It doesn't try to play your CD collection, run your movies, read your e-mail, or store your MP3 files. The company has concentrated its efforts on games. All the prelaunch titles we've seen play smoothly, with bright, fast graphics and great sound. Nintendo says its engineers have removed traditional bottlenecks that have, in the past, slowed down processing. New components designed by IBM and MoSys, as well as a large-capacity secondary memory cache, keep instructions moving through the system's microprocessor (MPU) at peak levels. Less

How the DS Lite Came to Be...

When the orignal Nintendo DS launched in 2004 it was met with more than a little skepticism. This was mainly due to the unorthodox features of the little handheld; it featured two screens, one of them being a touch screen. The system turned out to be a... Read full review »

Cons lack of multiplayer games, slow hardware, some genres not well represented

I swear. I did own an original Nintendo DS. Despite its innovation and the games that were on the way, I had to give it up. I had won it in a contest, but was out of work at the time. I really needed the money and couldn't afford to start putting in money for games. Since I became reemployed, the... Read full review »

Pros Excellent Gameplay, Fun, Good Value
Cons nothing
Recommended it? Yes

Game cube is fun and addicting. The graphics aren't as great as on the newer game systems, and the new trendy games like rock band aren't offered for game cube, but it is fun for playing more classic video games, and kid friendly. Read full review »

When we first got this, when this was the "new" system out there, it was awesome and very advanced.  Now there have been another 2-3 systems since then, so naturally it pales in comparison.  However, there are still tons of great games out there for it and it is very fun! Read full review »
