The Force is with us in EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH, the final chapter of the six-part STAR WARS series, which began a long time ago (1977) in a galaxy far, far away... and is now complete in its cyclical perfection. This visually awe-striking kaleidoscope of interplanetary imagination features the unmatched digital animation and special effects of George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic. With pink and orange skies casting a golden sheen over magnificent landscapes through which space ships dart and light sabers flash, the spectacle of the film, while hypnotizing, is but a complement to the intense, crucial plot. <br> <br> Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) remains the Jedi apprentice of master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). Battling dark forces that threaten the Republic, the duo quickly eliminates enemy Count Dooku (Christopher Lee), and Anakin proves--as he states more than once--that his powers have doubled. An intimidating warrior with superior knowledge of the Force, Anakin becomes the ... Less

The first of three prequels to George Lucas's celebrated STAR WARS films, EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE is set some 30 years before the original STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE in the era of the Republic. Naboo, a peaceful planet governed by the young but wise Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman), is being threatened by the corrupt Trade Federation, puppets of an evil Sith lord and his terrifying apprentice, Darth Maul (Ray Park). Jedi knights Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor, performing an amazing vocal imitation of Alec Guinness, the older Obi-Wan) are called on to intervene in the trade disputes. Along the way, they acquire an apprentice of their own in the form of young prodigy Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), or as STAR WARS fans know him, the future Darth Vader. They also encounter Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best), a goofy, lizardlike creature who has been banished from his underwater world for clumsiness. When the Trade Federation launches an attack on Naboo, the queen and her alli... Less

Professional Reviews
(07/01/2005, p.131, Michael Bonner): "It looks fantastic; a fully-formed universe, richly detailed down to a microcosmic level..." (05/21/1999, p.8E, Susan Wloszczyna): "...A visual circus of stunning effects. Once again, it simply boils down to a fight between good and evil, and the hordes of STAR warriors wouldn't have it any other way..."

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (2005) -- Who could have done this?

Pros Spectacular visuals, Anakin and Padme finally get real, ungodly lightsaber battles!
Cons Sheeeeeeit.
Recommended it? Yes

It's hard to remember specific details. People gathered in clusters of five or six, a rock radio station was camped out right outside the movie theater, playing "Heavy" by Collective Soul. It was 11:25 at night. Oh yeah, and it was raining.

After a 15-minute wait at the concession stand... Read full review »

Ummm...Did Everyone Else See The Same Movie As Me?

Pros Vader's mask looks cool. Integral part of the Star Wars six-ogy.
Cons The acting. And Padme gives birth the the HUGEST newborns ever. And they were premature!
Recommended it? No

Picture Darth Vader stretching his arms out and screaming "Noooooo!" when he learns Padme is dead. It takes a good actor to pull the ole' "noooo" scream off. Hayden Christensen is not. In fact, he's pretty horrible. That part would fit better in Spaceballs or the gag reel of the DVD. I groaned from... Read full review »

Smells Like Teen Spirit

Pros After 16 years of wait, we get incredible eye candy and half decent performances
Cons Sadly, we also get a weak script and two of the most annoying characters ever
Recommended it? Yes

Although it was successful at the box office, Star Wars, Episode One: The Phantom Menace was a disappointing film with few admirable aspects. $110 million bucks worth of CGI both helped and hurt the film. Jar Jar Binks and Jake Lloyd practically ruined it. The script was pedestrian. And on top of... Read full review »

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace — And So the Star Wars Story Begins

Pros Spectacular special effects, great-looking creatures, the world of Coruscant, the podrace
Cons Jar Jar Binks, the explanation of Anakin's conception
Recommended it? Yes

I better say something about Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace before I lose my nerve again. I usually don't habour any preconceptions or expectations before watching a movie, but it was really hard to do so with Episode I. After all, this is Star Wars, the most scrutinized franchise viewed... Read full review »
