The Force is with us in EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH, the final chapter of the six-part STAR WARS series, which began a long time ago (1977) in a galaxy far, far away... and is now complete in its cyclical perfection. This visually awe-striking kaleidoscope of interplanetary imagination features the unmatched digital animation and special effects of George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic. With pink and orange skies casting a golden sheen over magnificent landscapes through which space ships dart and light sabers flash, the spectacle of the film, while hypnotizing, is but a complement to the intense, crucial plot.

Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) remains the Jedi apprentice of master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). Battling dark forces that threaten the Republic, the duo quickly eliminates enemy Count Dooku (Christopher Lee), and Anakin proves--as he states more than once--that his powers have doubled. The Rebels, led by the headstrong Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), are fighting against the evil Empire, which has set about destroying planets inhabited by innocent citizens with the Death Star, a fearsome planetlike craft commanded by Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) and the eternally frightful Darth Vader (David Prowse, with the voice of James Earl Jones). When Luke's aunt and uncle are murdered by the Empire's imperial stormtroopers and he mysteriously finds a distress message from Princess Leia in one of his androids, R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), he must set out to find ... Professional Reviews
(07/01/2005, p.131, Michael Bonner): "It looks fantastic; a fully-formed universe, richly detailed down to a microcosmic level..." (01/31/1997, p.35, Roger Ebert): "...It's a good-hearted film in every single frame, and shining through is the gift of a man who knew how to link state of the art technology with a deceptively simple, really very powerful, story..."

Pros Spectacular visuals, Anakin and Padme finally get real, ungodly lightsaber battles!
Cons Sheeeeeeit.
Recommended it? Yes

It's hard to remember specific details. People gathered in clusters of five or six, a rock radio station was camped out right outside the movie theater, playing "Heavy" by Collective Soul. It was 11:25 at night. Oh yeah, and it was raining.

After a 15-minute wait at the concession stand... Read full review »

Pros Vader's mask looks cool. Integral part of the Star Wars six-ogy.
Cons The acting. And Padme gives birth the the HUGEST newborns ever. And they were premature!
Recommended it? No

Picture Darth Vader stretching his arms out and screaming "Noooooo!" when he learns Padme is dead. It takes a good actor to pull the ole' "noooo" scream off. Hayden Christensen is not. In fact, he's pretty horrible. That part would fit better in Spaceballs or the gag reel of the DVD. I groaned from... Read full review »

When I was a young lass of 11, Star Wars was released to the world. Those of you who know me and have read my reviews probably are figuring that I am a sci-fi geek-ette anyway so of course I headed out to see it.

You are wrong.

For months my parents bribed, begged, cajoled and... Read full review »

Pros Simple story that's applicable to many situations--groundworks of modern myth.
Cons Luke Skywalker is a whiny li'l Jedi...but that's a good place to start from
Recommended it? Yes

I saw first saw this when I was 4 years old. Somewhat impressionable age, right? Well, that first moviegoing experience (the first movie I remember seeing in the theatre) broke something in my soft little skull that made me LOVE Star Wars. I became a horrid little monster who ate, drank, slept, and... Read full review »
